They take pride in using locally sourced raw materials, with a natural spring delivering fresh spring water to the distillery which is then used in the distillation of their spirits and for cooling their still, nicknamed ‘Maggie’.
With our expanding MINI Electric and Hybrid range, Bowker MINI wanted to contribute to the sustainability of their business. Currently, the distillery ensures the use of sustainable and ethically sourced botanicals from the UK and across the world that give their spirits their award-winning taste.

ELECTRIC CAR CHARGING AT HOME.
The great thing about electric car charging at home is that it’s easy to do. There are different home car charging points that you can use depending on what suits you best, so you can be sure you’re always ready to hit the road.

HOUSEHOLD PLUG.
You don’t actually need any complex installation or unit to charge at home.
Simply use the standard charging cable and adapter included with your all-electric MINI to plug into any conventional household 230-volt power socket (SchuKo).
2.5 hours of slow charging will be enough for your next commute of up to 50 km.
A whole night using the household plug will be enough on average to give you several days of city driving.
FASTER CHARGING WITH A WALLBOX.
A wallbox offers you a convenient, faster alternative to the standard mains supply, if you want to charge your EV regularly at home.
More power: a dedicated, 3-phase 11 kW wallbox connection will generally give you up to 3-times faster charging time. So your All-electric MINI can be fully charged within around 3.5 hours.
Safety first: a wallbox is specifically designed with overheating protection and a fault circuit breaker to allow for a constant high load.
Convenience: there is nowhere more convenient to charge your car than those places you spend most time during the day or overnight.

ELECTRIC CAR CHARGING POINTS.

RAPID CHARGING.
The fastest charging points are typically found at motorway service stations and on main routes. They use a DC supply to charge rapidly at a rating of up to 50kw. Using this method, the MINI Electric can charge from 0-80% in as little as 36 minutes.
FAST CHARGING.
Fast charging points are the most common and deliver an AC supply at a higher rating of either 7.4kw or 11kw. While MINI Electric can use both, it has a maximum rating of 11kw with an AC supply. Which means a full charge would take 3 hours and 30 minutes.
SLOW CHARGING.
Slow charging points are less common and tend to be older devices. They deliver an AC supply and are rated at up to 2.3kw. If you have enough time, MINI Electric can achieve a full charge in 12 hours. You can also use this method by charging with a standard 3 pin plug at home.
PUBLIC CHARGING.

MAKE THE MOST OF YOUR PARKING TIME.
Ever more supermarkets, shopping centres and DIY stores are offering free use of their AC, and DC, charging stations or triple chargers at their parking facilities. Many hotels are also keen to be seen as more environmentally aware and making more effort to accommodate guests with electric vehicles. Multi-storey car parks are also offering electric parking spaces at no extra cost.
Your employer might also consider setting up charging facilities for you and your colleagues if space allows.
TYPE 2 CHARGERS.
Many AC public charging stations require you to bring your own Type 2 cable. They offer the same power as a wallbox athome and you can charge a MINI Electric with the same 11 kW, while the MINI COUNTRYMAN plug-in hybrid uses 3.7 kW. Your MINI includes a Type 2 cable, enabling you to charge wherever you go. Take a look at the other cables available below.


CCS FAST CHARGERS.
Wherever you’re heading off to, your all-electric MINI couldn’t be better equipped. You can also take advantage of fast charging of up to 50 kW via the Combined Charging System (CCS). This is the standard for rapid charging in Europe.
The upper part of the plug resembles the Type 2 plug, while the more powerful conectors below allow for direct current (DC) with a much higher voltage and amperage. AC power has to be transformed by your vehicle, while DC power directly charges your battery.
CCS chargers include the charging cable and no additional hardware is needed. The combination of practically-sized charging capacity and stable charging performance of your MINI ensures you can take many ways to reach your destination – and always have several charging options within reach.
Please note that plug-in hybrids usually don’t support CCS as the smaller battery can’t take as much power.

Upon account creation you are presented with a single basic tariff, named Flex tariff.
The Flex tariff provides access to all included network operators without any monthly membership/subscription fees. This base tariff is most suitable for occasional users as the customer only pays for the charging sessions they complete. The price for the charging session is determined by the individual charging point operator and therefore varies dependent on the charging point/network used. The current pricing for each charging point is shown directly in the MINI Charging app or website and it is recommended that the customer always check the prices in operation prior to commencing the charging session. Typical prices range from £0.18-£0.42 per kWh for AC/DC charge points.
For more frequent public charging users, you can choose to add optional packages. Whereby for a monthly subscription fee, each package provides more attractive/preferential pricing for charging sessions conducted on those networks.
bppulse package
The bppulse package is suitable for frequent users of the bppulse network.
For a monthly subscription fee of £7.85 you can access preferential pricing per/kWh when charging at the included bppulse charging points. There are currently >5,000 MINI compatible bppulse charging points available in the UK
NEW VEHICLE OFFER
New vehicle customers who have purchased a new fully electric or plug-in hybrid MINI vehicle through Bowker MINI and whose vehicle handover took/takes place on or after 01 April 2021 are eligible to receive the “bppulse” package for 12 months without subscription fee if they have registered for the Flex tariff.**

To start and end a charging session at a MINI Charging partner charging point, either the RFID card or mobile app may be used, depending on the capability of the charge point.
Yes of course. Simply use the steadily expanding public network of MINI Charging or other charging stations as available, such as from your employer. The MINI App* or the navigation system in your vehicle shows you public charge points in the vicinity.
Attractive public charging tariffs and personalised offers are also available exclusively to MINI customers.
The time taken to charge electric cars (depending on the cable or charging station) takes longer with alternating current (AC), while direct current (DC) is significantly faster. The MINI Hatch has been awarded ‘Most Fun Car to Drive’ at the 2021 Auto Trader New Car Awards.

Interested in making the switch to an all-electric BMW? Here’s a real-life account from a BMW i3 driver. Heath Downes, Retail Sales Manager at Bowker Motor Group, a BMW i3 driver, was eager to share his experience of an all-electric car. Below, Heath talks about the switch from a combustion engine to electric, his initial ‘range anxiety’, fuel bill savings and the My BMW App being an essential companion for any BMW driver. Here is what Heath had to say;
“I was very happy with my BMW 3 Series, but the car industry was moving forward with the introduction of electric cars. I have always been someone to move with the times, so when the BMW i3s was released, I knew what I had to do.
I was drawn in by its standout contemporary design, with forward thinking technology. It certainly looks fresh and
modern. However, with electric cars being relatively new, I did have a little bit of “range anxiety” but I soon got to know the car’s capabilities and I was able to plan my journey to suit and the anxiety soon disappeared.
On average, my return commute is 60 miles per day, with some recreational mileage over the weekend. My domestic home smart charger optimises the best time to charge so that the vehicle is always ready before 7am the following day.
The main difference from switching to electric certainly comes from the regenerative braking on the i3. You can drive the car around town and barely need to touch the brake pedal, all the while conserving battery energy.
Ultimately, I was impressed by the performance of the i3s. However, the capability to conserve energy and driving in Eco Pro mode on A roads reveals that the car’s range can in fact be stretched through minimal adjustments in your driving style.
I have found that switching to an all-electric car has made a huge difference in terms of fuel costs compared to electric costs. On average the monthly fuel bill saving is £300 per month!
I wouldn’t go back to a petrol or diesel engine car now. The i3 does everything I need it to. It’s practical enough to seat four people in comfort. The car is easy to drive and has good sized boot space for shopping trips. Speaking of shopping trips, the i3 will travel from Lancaster to The Trafford Centre and back comfortably on a single charge.
On Using the My BMW App.
I would say the My BMW App is an essential companion for any BMW driver, not just those who have an electric car. I can instantly see the remaining charge on the car and the distance available. The app will notify me when the car has been placed on charge and when it has been fully charged.
More importantly, in the winter months, you can activate the pre heat function on the car. Not only will the interior be invitingly warm, but the car will also be defrosted on colder mornings. Something which adds an extra air of satisfaction knowing that you can just drive off without having to de-ice your car.
There’s no turning back for me, and I would encourage anyone who’s thinking about making the switch to electric to do it. You won’t regret it!”

Tetrosyl really showed their colours last year by standing by us despite the covid pandemic, that’s why they are such a large, powerful, dynamic company that’s respected throughout the industry. Norman continued “Mac Tools also continued to support us, this is their 10th consecutive year supporting the team and we are welcoming Gallagher’s and Haydock Finance on board this year along with Bowker BMW. Really looking forward to getting started now, this season is going to be epic for us.”
Adam Morgan “Testing has been spot on, both Tom and I have really got to grips with the BMW and its rear wheel drive characteristics straight away, we have been on the pace at every test so far and still have another 4 tests to go before the season starts. We are all, the team’s engineers and mechanics very confident that the cars will be ultra-competitive straight out of the box. The cars look amazing, I was blown away when I first saw them in the flesh, as was Tom, we both fell deeply in love straight away, with the cars, not each other! Although we are getting along and working really well together, both at and away from the track. I, like Norman, am just so grateful that Car Gods have granted us this opportunity and continue to provide much needed support to the Ciceley Motorsport team.

As we head into new Bennetts British Superbike Championship class, Bowker Motorrad are pleased to join the PR Racing team for a fifth consecutive year as a Team Partner. This season, the team are doubling their line-up as they head into their 20th anniversary, fielding the all-new BMW M 1000 RR with Joe Francis and new signing Brad Jones.
The Liverpool-based team have retained Francis for a third season after he claimed the team’s top ten finish during last year’s campaign and now the Chester-based rider is aiming for further progression in 2021 with the new BMW Superbike.
A seasoned pro, having been involved in the sport since the age of 9, Francis said: “This will be a fantastic opportunity to build on the consistent development from myself and the team over the last two years. Towards the end of the 2020 season, we really stepped up as we closed the gap and ran with the leading pack. I can’t wait to swing my leg over the new bike and start testing.”
Brad Jones will complete the team’s Superbike line-up as he makes his debut in the class in 2021. The 22-year-old from Stalbridge has finished runner-up the past two seasons in the Quattro Group British Supersport Championship and is now keen to make the step up to the premier class.
Jones said: “I’m very excited to get going, I know I have a lot of learning to do but that’s all part of the process. The excitement is really high for 2021 and get my first taste of the Superbike. At this stage of my career, stepping up into Superbikes and benefitting from all the team’s experience, is a great opportunity for me.”
Team Principal at PR Racing, John Jameson on their anniversary season and their partnership with Bowker Motorrad: “As we enter our 20th year in the Superbike class, the team are really excited to be bringing another young talent on-board. Production: The Carbon fibres used for the BMW i3 are manufactured at the state-of-the-art Leipzig Plant, where the production plant runs entirely on renewable wind power.
Recycling: The BMW i3 has a battery module that can be re-used as a storage receptacle for solar energy. And the surplus carbon fibres can be returned to production process. Also, approximately 27 used plastic bottles go into every car to form parts of the seats and doors.
Natural & Sustainable materials: The aim of developing the BMW i cars is not simply to build emission-free cars, but also to use the maximum possible amount of sustainably produced and recycled materials – especially inside. Natural, renewable, and sustainable: the interior of the BMW i3 features door trim panels and a dashboard made from renewable natural fibres, naturally tanned leather, and open-pore eucalyptus wood sourced from 100% FSC®-certified forestry. Overall, 25% renewable raw materials and recycled plastics were used in the interior of the BMW i3. The textile upholsteries are made of up to 100% recycled polyester and a further 25% recycled plastics are used in the exterior.
With its high-performance battery, the BMW i3 produces zero driving emissions and can cover up to 182-190 miles** in pure electric, while the BMW i3s, which delivers a sportier driving experience, offers up to 173-175 miles.**

• Social distancing measures are in place

• Protective screens have been fitted to desks where required
• Disposable gloves, seat, steering wheel and gear selector covers are being used by our service advisors, technicians and valeters
• Pre-appointment calls are made beforehand to limit the number of customers in the Centre at any given time
• Each vehicle that passes through the workshop will be sanitised using a safe disinfecting solution
• Customers are encouraged to make payments by card or other contactless methods
• Online sales enquiries are being conducted using video technology where possible
• Contactless collection/delivery of sold vehicles is available on request
