THE BMW M 1000 R
Pushes you to the limit: the M 1000 R. In short, the M R. Superbike meets dynamic roadster. Its heritage stems from M racing developers and the race track. A stunning 210 hp with a top speed of 280 km/h and you’re in control – on country roads or the race track. The bike is very forgiving, but it will never forgive you for not riding it. Maximum performance: a must. Your objective: exceed – dominate the road. M colours clearly signal this. Unmissable: the sound of the M R four-cylinder engine. Can you hear it calling you? M perfection: winglets
Perfection is in the details. M winglets generate aerodynamic downforce to prevent high flyers from taking off. At a speed of 220 km/h, they increase the front-wheel load by 11 kg. Your benefit: maximum riding stability, a lower tendency for the front wheel to lift off the road surface as well as the possibility to brake later and accelerate earlier when cornering.
M dominance: engine
The optimised front and side trim panels are made of carbon to ensure greater performance and increase the top speed by 8 km/h. In addition, the new aerodynamics relieve strain on the rider by reducing the downforce of the wind: for sustained, fast, focused riding. The newly designed M winglets made of carbon, on the other hand, increase the downforce of the front wheel by up to 6.3 kg – even when leaning. And they provide 22.6 kg of downforce at 300 km/h, giving riders more confidence during extreme tilts and at high cornering speeds.
