Electric driving pleasure.

  • The efficient BMW eDrive system lets you drive up to 45 – 46 miles (WLTP) [3,5,7] purely electrically.
  • The 727 hp (535 kW) (3,5,7) powerful electric motor delivers powerful for-ward thrust. It maximises acceleration in seamless interplay with the 4.4-litre V8 engine.
  • M Drive Professional is your reliable companion for fast laps, while Boost Control delivers breathtaking acceleration.
  • Charge easily and reliably at home with the optional Flexible Charger (Mode 2) or Home Charger. Discover your own individual charging solution.
  • With BMW Charging, you charge throughout Europe in one of the largest public charging networks. All that you need for this is included in the scope of supply.
  • Thanks to intelligent control, you optimise your charging process at home, allowing you, for example, to use as much of your own generated solar power as possible.
[1] These figures were obtained using a combination of battery power and fuel. The BMW M5 Saloon is a Plug-in Hybrid vehicle requiring mains electricity for charging. WLTP figures are shown for comparability purposes. Only compare fuel consumption, CO2 and electric range figures with other cars tested to the same technical procedures. These figures may not reflect real-life driving results, which will depend upon a number of factors including the starting charge of the battery, accessories fitted (post registration), variations in weather, driving styles, fuel type and vehicle load.
[2] For plug-in hybrid: Weighted, combined (EC AC Charge Weighted)
[3] Provisional figures; any missing figures were unavailable at the time of publication.
[4] Composed of combustion engine drive (specified nominal value) and electric drive (up to specified nominal value). Electric drive depending on battery charging level.
[5] For plug-in hybrid: Electric drive depending on battery charging level.
[6] Material-specific properties can cause increased function-related noises when braking, e.g. after longer periods of light braking or just before coming to a stop in wet conditions. The influence of road salt or wetness, e.g. after using car washes, overnight condensation, driving in the rain, etc., can cause the braking effect to be similar to that of a conventional brake system. This reduced braking effect can be compensated for with greater pedal pressure.
[7] For plug-in hybrid: At temperatures below freezing, the fully electric drive system is only available after a few kilometres of driving, once the battery has heated to operational temperature.
