Sales Ledger Accounts Assistant



Bowker Motor Group is recruiting an Accounts Assistant for their BMW & MINI Centre on Preston Docklands.

The Role:

This busy role will suit an enthusiastic individual with a positive attitude and willingness to work. This will involve working as part of an effective team as well as being a good communicator.

Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, the ideal candidate will have good organisational skills as well as having a ‘hands on’ approach.

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Daily banking including cash allocation and reconciliation of card payments
  • Credit Control
  • Bacs/cheque payments
  • Petty cash
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Control Account reconciliations
  • Processing customer refunds
  • Assisting with various administrative duties and filing
  • Holiday and sickness cover for Purchase Ledger
  • Ad hoc duties as and when required.

Skills & Experience:

  • Self-motivated
  • Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills
  • An effective communicator
  • Well-presented and personable
  • Punctual
  • Applicants must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • A working knowledge of CDK/Keyloop Drive DMS would be advantageous

Previous experience in a similar role or an accounting qualification is not essential.

Hours of work are Monday to Friday 09:00 – 18:00 with a one hour unpaid lunch break.
